  • Sometimes the best nail polish remover is...nail polish.

In the midst of all of these profound notes/posts I've been reading, I've decided to post about my own profound experience w/ none other than the nail polish.

So I'm sitting in my hotel room trying to do some work and I suddenly get an urge to paint my nails. I took a break and happened to have two polish colors - a sheer Confectionary pink by MAC and deep Demi red by Julep. Guess which one I go with? You got it, Demi!

I finish painting my toes (which look fab btw) and then start with my finger nails. I finish painting the thumb, then the pointer, then the middle...uh...at this point I'm thinking "hmmm...maybe I shouldn't freak my mom out even more with super red nails now that I have super purple streaks in my hair". So I quickly run to the bathroom thinking that I can just wash off the polish.

    Shoot...it's not coming off...scrub scrub scub...grrrrrr.

So at this point I'm thinking I'm going to have to go out and find a store nearby to get nail polish remover now that it looks like I put a butcher knife to my fingers.

And then it dawned on me...I remembered someone once saying that you can use nail polish as a nail polish remover. At this point, I'm desperate...so I try.

VOILA! I used the sheer pink polish that I had and it took the red right off of my nails!

So ladies (or gents, if you're out there), no need to fret if you lack nail polish remover...just use your nail polish!

    finito.

  • Making faces...

Hello xanga...I did not forget you!

In these past few weeks, I've allowed myself to expand my horizons and explore a few of the many facets of what is called ART. I've always been intrigued by the transforming power of make-up and when my hubby presented the opportunity to take that intrigue and make it into a reality, I said "why not".

With the help of an awesome make-up artist (Tammy), I embarked on my journey and have a few images to share on the progress so far:

  • The wedding came and went, but I can still picture the events/moments as clear as day. Actually, I remember crying a lot, but more on that later!

We're still on our honeymoon and it's been stellar   ... while we were in Fiji [Matamanoa Island] we took advantage of God's beautiful backdrop and lugged my wedding dress and John's suit all the way across the world to do our own little photo shoot. I mean, what else do photographers do on an isolated island?

Here are just a few so far...

Walking through the water was a bit tough...you wouldn't think how heavy a dress can get but it was all worth it! The solo shots were taken by my hubby of course and the middle picture was taken by none other than Mr. Remote Trigger, with the assistance of Mr. Gorilla Pod.

Miss you all dearly and will see you soon!

    Mrs. Hong out...

  • Can someone tell me what the heck is going on???

In a span of one week, my mom has car problems on Sunday, John gets into a car accident on Thursday, I NEARLY get into a car accident on Friday, and I get a flat tire today.

    SO not fun...

Btw - I HIGHLY recommend AAA.
